Gun Idiocy of the Media

The horrible shooting of Republican congressmen and their aids and protecting police while practicing for a charity Democrat v. Republican baseball game in Alexandria, VA is transitioning into old news. But, aside from the blaming of the victims, the coverage in the media has been pretty normal, that is, it really sucks, especially regarding guns.

The gun the lefty puke used to hunt Republican legislators was a Chinese variant of the Soviet SKS, a semi-auto rifle which was a decided non-improvement on the SVT-40 which it replaced. The SKS does not have a removable box magazine like the SVT (so you have to stuff 10 rounds into the fixed magazine with a stripper clip) and it uses the inferior 7.62x39mm round. It is cheap though. I saw some for sale for $125 a few years ago.

Here is but a taste of the pig ignorance of guns the lefty media (but I repeat myself) betray in covering this shooting:

CNN said that the SKS was an AK variant before correction of the story after us gun nuts laughed at the ignorant reporters.

(Well it was a Commie rifle at least but not full auto as the real AKs are; and the SKS was developed before the AK so variant is not the right way to describe it)

Here is the NYT on the shooting's broader political meaning. Money quote:

Was this attack evidence of how vicious American politics has become? Probably. In 2011, when Jared Lee Loughner opened fire in a supermarket parking lot, grievously wounding Representative Gabby Giffords and killing six people, including a 9-year-old girl, the link to political incitement was clear. Before the shooting, Sarah Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Ms. Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs
Completely false. There was no link between the full crazy Loughner and the surveyor marks on Palin's map. None. Loughner was mainly just plain nuts and to the extent he had any politics, they were lefty (The Communist Manifesto was his favorite book). The chance he saw the map of districts targeted for Republican victory is nil. So, no the link was not clear, the link was non-existent. Even the "correction" is bull. "But in that case no connection to the shooting was ever established." That sentence implies that the failure to establish the connection was merely the inability to find the evidence that existed of just such a connection. How about this? "There was no link whatsoever between Sarah Palin and Jared Loughner, although many on the left falsely jumped to that conclusion."

It's like they have an agenda or something.
